About Dream Center Academy Christian School

The Dream Center Academy is a private Christian School and a One-Stop-Shop, Home-Away-from-Home Empowerment Zone that will provide programming and services geared toward holistically impacting and affecting the lives of youth, young adults and families that enter into its doors.

Family Cost: Based on household income minus household expenses
Number of Students: 20-25 students

Breakfast cost $0.50 per day (per child)
Lunch cost $1.50 per day (per child)

Tuition Assistance Fund

To educate our Star Scholars it cost $7000 per year. By investing in the lives of God’s Children a HUGE Kingdom ROI will be the result. We welcome all donations that Christ Jesus provides.

Teacher and Star Scholar Support

At times there are supplies that are needed that equip our teachers to be more effective in educating and empowering our Star Scholars. Your investment will help us to stay current with up to date curriculum, technology, books that are needed.

Benevolence Program Fund

Quarterly we help our families in need with their practical needs such as paying a bill of their choice, purchase food for their home, purchase clothing for their children. This is all about extending to them a “Hand Up” as Christ Jesus would have us to.

EMPOWERING
the future

By empowering the future, we are stopping the cycle of trauma in our communities and instead putting our trust in the Lord. We are planting the seeds for the future to ensure an empowered community that overcomes systemic injustices. We are creating stability for our children who are five times more likely to have a parent or sibling incarcerated or involved in the criminal justice system.

ENGAGING
the hopeful

By engaging the hopeful, we take the light of the Lord that is present in each person and allow them to fully shine in all of their potential. We are enlivening our communities and opening the doors for all that is promised for us in the faith of Jesus Christ. WE are instilling hope in our children who are two times more likely to have witnessed, been exposed to, or been a victim of violence.

EDUCATING
the community

Education and knowledge is one of the strongest and most resilient tools a human can have in their tool box to combat the cycle of poverty. Education and knowledge never stays with just one person, it spreads from person to person allowing them to rise up and lead. In our community in Chickasaw, children are nine times more likely to drop out of school. Meaning they will miss out on the opportunity to break the cycle.

ENRICHING
resurrection

When we enrich a resurrection, it means to set a soul aflame with passion. It means to feed the souls in all the right ways that leads to that person’s destiny. It creates a path that others can follow to find their own purpose and passion. We are combatting the 70% of black children in JCPS who cannot read at grade level.

The Avoidable Result

Children from fatherless homes are likelier to drop out of high school, die by suicide, have behavioral disorders, join gangs, and end up in prison.
In 1960, just 22 percent of black children were raised in single-parent families. More than 70 percent of black children are raised in single-parent families today.
According to a report by prisons review, the cost for one person to be incarcerated in the US is over $391.18 per day and $142,780.00 per year.

The Proposed Solution

At Dream Center, we believe that we can help to reverse these negative trends with a simple formula. We’re convinced that a Christ-centered education providing love, safety, and high expectations can provide what these children need to excel. In fact, they are already doing so!

But we need help to reach more children. An investment in these children to learn and grow today will be far less expensive than what it might cost us in the justice system in the future.

Vision

As a result of raising these funds and completing these projects, the following objectives will have been achieved:

Build a state-of-the-art facility that provides Educational Excellence in Christ within
the boundaries of our ministry impact – the West End.
Central location for our nine West End neighborhood satellite schools to feed into.
Provide a space where Special Needs students in the West End can thrive and not just
survive.
